About UTHER

UTHER is a collection of Murder Mystery Dinner Parties (MMDPs) written by me, Author Pendragon (pen name (duh)). Every single game on this site was written first to be played with my dearest friends, and every game for sale has been play-tested (with vigor!) at least once. The games began roughly, and the games took clearer shape and stronger game design as I wrote more. After some poking around other sites, I began to realize that my style of MMDP occupied a niche of complexity, zaniness, and intellectual stimulation in servings rather larger than other sites (forgive me, I mean no insult). At the core of the design/writing process is the desire to create memorable moments of pretend play facilitated by high-stakes (feeling so at least) plots, backstabs, betrayals, and murder. What fun!

I've wanted to try my hand at selling these kits for a while, more just to share them with more people than to really make much money. This site is pretty cheap and it costs me nothing to share them with people, so I figured I might as well offer a hopefully reasonable price point (in today's world). If the price is at all an issue, please reach out and we'll see what we can manage.

I am proud to say that I use ZERO Artificial Intelligence anywhere in the design or writing process (I hope the odd typo here or there is charming proof of this instead of annoying unprofessionalism). Please consider that supporting human creatives is a joy and perhaps duty these days. I feel compelled to note that I do/have/will use(d) AI tools for the creation and marketing of this site and my products.
