It should serve as no surprise that Los Angeles, the world capital of glamor, luxury, and celebrity is home to the most glamorous, luxurious, and celebrity-packed nursing home in the world: Pasadena Pastures. Occupying a stunning mid-century manor nestled in a large estate, the Pastures serve as a private and comfortable living situation for society’s biggest names and most powerful figures as they gracefully transition out of the spotlight. Actors, businesspeople, writers, brilliant scientists, creatives of all kinds have come here for the gentle yet untiring support that the Pastures are so well known for. Of course, admission is on a recommendation only basis, and many are rejected. Why, you may ask, are these wealthy and powerful figures accessing the care of a nursing home instead of purchasing the private care which, surely, they can afford? Well, that’s their own business…

The circles of society in which the guests at the Pastures swim are smaller than you might think, so it is only natural that many of the guests had prior relationships with each other, some with deep and complicated histories. Drama is inevitable in the lives of celebrities, and all too often this baggage arrives with them to the Pastures. In this intimate, close-quarters living environment, feuds have been known to flare up as the end of life approaches, grudges be rekindled, or beefs to get squashed. Despite the occasional interpersonal conflict, the Pastures generally run smoothly, much thanks to their highly-acclaimed manager, Floradora Dover, and the well-respected nursing team of Zelda Mitt (head nurse) and Hobart Hogg (assistant nurse). Jimmy Bitz, the orderly, keeps everything in order, while Chiara Bevivino handles the accounts. The home’s high-quality functioning is in no small part aided by the huge sums of money raised at their monthly Galas, much of which comes from anonymous donors, presumably fans of current residents.

Recently, tension at the Pastures has been somewhat high, mostly due to accusations of cheating at the nightly Bingo game. Can you imagine! Earlier tonight, as Hobart Hogg was doing his nightly rounds, checking on the patients as they fell asleep, he found none other than Denny O’Mann, the famous inventor who practically invented solar energy, dead in his room, suffocated with a pillow!

Hobart burst out of the room, and he and Zelda Mitt raised the alarm. Chaos ensued, with many people running around, shouting and crying. Soon, calm and order returned, and everyone caught their breath– except for Denny that is. As the dust settled, Floradora examined the scene and found that Denny’s desk, which was always cluttered with notes, articles, and sketches of new ideas and inventions, was empty, all his papers gone!

At present, the residents of the Pastures gather to mourn the passing of their friend, or at least co-habitant, and to get to the bottom of his tragically premature passing.

      Such a fun experience!

This was my first time ever doing something like this and it was honestly such a good time. Being able to take on a persona, relax, and have a good time with coworkers and friends was awesome. The story was so surprising and I would absolutely do something like this again. 10/10 experience
